Professional Ear Cleaning & Wax Removal

See it, clear it, confirm it — video examination before and after

Safe, Effective Earwax Removal at Your Home

Earwax buildup is common and can cause muffled hearing, tinnitus, ear pressure, or discomfort. Cotton swabs push wax deeper, creating impaction. Professional removal restores clear hearing immediately and safely.

Using video otoscopy, you'll see whether wax is present before we begin. If removal is needed, we use a lighted curette for manual extraction or the Earigator irrigation system for stubborn blockages. You'll see the difference when we're done.

What's Included

  • Video Otoscopy: High-definition visual examination of your ear canals
  • Wax Removal (if needed): Lighted curette or Earigator irrigation
  • Post-Cleaning Verification: Confirm clear ear canals with video
  • Follow-Up Included: If wax is especially stubborn, a second visit is included at no extra cost

Duration: 30 minutes | Price: $150 (wax removal) / $50 (no wax present)

Why Not Just Use a Syringe?

Many general practice clinics use manual ear syringing — flushing with water from a handheld syringe. This carries real risks. The British Journal of General Practice cites complications including ear infections and eardrum perforation from uncontrolled water pressure.

We use the Earigator — an irrigation system invented by an ENT surgeon specifically to address the problems with traditional syringing. The Earigator automatically heats water to body temperature (37°C) before it enters your ear. This matters because cold water can trigger the balance system and cause sudden vertigo (a phenomenon used intentionally in balance testing). Standard syringes require guessing the temperature.

Water pressure is controlled by a trigger on the handpiece, giving precise, real-time control throughout the procedure. The result is effective wax removal without the discomfort or risks of uncontrolled manual syringing.

When to Get Professional Ear Cleaning

Consider professional wax removal if you experience:

  • Muffled or blocked hearing
  • Sensation of fullness or pressure in the ear
  • Tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, or humming)
  • Hearing aids that don't work properly or whistle
  • Discomfort or itching deep in the ear canal
  • Difficulty hearing conversations or phone calls

See What's Inside Your Ears

Video otoscopy provides a magnified, high-definition view of your ear canal and eardrum. This transparency ensures you understand exactly what's happening, whether wax is present, and whether removal was successful. No guessing, no assumptions — you see the same thing we see.
